Bio~
Welcome to my blog and website! I’m Melissa Evers, a self-taught artist based in North Carolina. In the spring of 2025, I earned my degree in Interdisciplinary Arts from William Peace University. Before that I completed my Fine Art Associates degree and Business Certificate from Wake Tech Community College. I have a deep passion for creativity and am constantly exploring and experimenting in all areas of life and art.

Traveling is another source of inspiration for me—I love discovering new places, cultures, and perspectives that influence my artistic journey. I’m an avid museum-goer, and I enjoy teaching art classes to adults, where I find great joy in connecting with others through the shared experience of creating art.

I create whimsical scenes of women being seen, showing power & vulnerability. These scenes are created through mixed media collage using acrylic, gouache, magazines, findings, and spray paint. I work on cardboard, canvas, paper, and within shadowboxes create color, texture, and mixed media elements to tell stories.

When I’m not creating art I love adventures, candy, being outside with my two wired-haired dachshunds Biscuit and Gravy. Traveling the world alongside my partner Andrew my favorite.

Most recently we went to Australia, Iceland, Amsterdam, Paris, and Mexico. These adventures are where I gain inspiration for my own work as well as dive deeper into the other female artists who are or have created.

A few of my favorite artists are Frida Kahlo, Lee Miller, Romare Bearden, Joan Miro, Paul Thek, Lee Krasner, Rene Magritte, and Joseph Cornell.

Feel Free to email for questions, comments, book an art class, or to commission work.
